On 25 and 26 March 2025, I will be speaking about the NEW EU Product Liability Directive 2024/2853 at the ONLINE seminar on two half-days, organised by ICC (International Chamber of Commerce, Vienna).

1. The NEW EU Product Liability Directive 2024/2853 will replace the current one from 1985 and must be implemented in all EU member states by 9 December 2026.
2. Products will, for the first time, also be smart products, software, digitalisation and systems with artificial intelligence (AI) according to the new EU AI-Act = EU Regulation 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence.
3. Many new economic operators, as well as e-commerce, will be covered by strict product liability law.
