The AI Act is a reality and an essential part of #ProductCompliance for companies in the European Union. The AI Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 published today, 12 July 2024, is the world’s first comprehensive and mandatory set of rules for the placing on the market, commissioning and use of artificial intelligence. AI systems support companies in the industrial production of their products through to distribution in the supply chain. The AI Act sets legally binding requirements for assessing the safety of software-generated products, safety expectations and product liability.

In addition to producers, all operators who use artificial intelligence in their work processes are potentially covered by the regulations.
